Self confidence and happiness
Written by Hope Stewart

Self-esteem is having confidence in one’s true worth and abilities and having the courage to assert oneself. High self-esteem is correlated to every positive experience in your life. It helps you to battle adversity and to fully appreciate the silver linings.

You do not feel the need to adapt your point of view or behavior to meet the expectations of others. You feel no need to worry about reaching a consensus as you know that everybody is entitled to their own views. If and when faced with a challenge which requires you to step outside of your comfort zone, you take it on with open arms because you have confidence in yourself and your ways.

You are aware that results are not always guaranteed, and things might not go as planned, but this does not upset you, because you feel excited thinking about all the possible outcomes, and get curious about which outcome will be yours.

You always know that you cannot please everyone so you just do what you what you have faith in, and you don’t regret doing so. Hence, you are happier. High self-esteem, which in turn leads to high self-confidence, can make you happier by making your life easier.

People with low self-esteem often have difficulty asserting themselves. Psychologists say that low self-esteem can lead to depression. People with low self-esteem always have their self-criticizing mode on, and they have no faith in themselves or in what they do. They are constantly telling themselves that they are no good, and hence end up getting depressed.

People with low self-esteem are generally incapable of addressing their issues and expressing their feelings, in fear of being rejected by others. They lack the ability to make decisions for themselves, and tend to blame others when something goes wrong. To sum it all up, they lack confidence, and they see everything in a negative light, therefore are pessimists.

Since high self-esteem is usually a measure of self-confidence, and allows one to lead a more content and happier life, it is often labeled as one of the most desirable traits. If you want to develop high self-esteem the first step should be to stop thinking negatively about yourself and everything you do. If you are always pressuring yourself by thinking about your shortcomings, then make a list of things that you love about yourself. Make sure that the list is big by adding every little detail, so that you can outweigh your vices with your virtues!

Aim to become someone who is accomplished and not someone who is a perfectionist. Your job should be to become good enough, instead of trying to be the very best. You have to accept the fact that there will always be someone better than you, but also the fact that you are probably better than someone else.

You should take every opportunity to learn what you can, from it. Mistakes are a big part of learning. Someone who never made mistakes, never learned anything, or they are just too stubborn to admit that they did make a mistake. Always remind yourself that you are a completely unique individual, and that your tastes and talents might differ from that of others. Everyone excels at different things. So instead of chasing someone else’s dream, find out what your talent is and work hard to excel in that.

If you want to show confidence and self-esteem, then never tie yourself to conventional beliefs https://helmii.com/collections/mattress. Dare to be different, and explore all the possibilities. Experiment with different activities that will help you get in touch with your true inner self.

Some things can’t be changed and some things don’t need to be changed. For instance, if you think you’re fat and you want to slim down to a size zero, you should first ask yourself, who are you doing this for? Is it because you personally want to, or is it because of what others think of you? If it’s your personal want, then I encourage you to start right away.

However, if it is to impress someone else, then I’d suggest you don’t. You should be happy and remember that you are beautiful just the way you are. In case it’s something that you can’t change, like your height, then start appreciating it and learn to love it!
